United Premire/Push for a New Skate Park
Hey guys, we’ve got some exciting news coming out of the shop!
The United “This is United” video is now complete after two years in the making. All their hard work has finally paid off and you can catch it at the Incline premier at a soon-to-be-released date. Come expecting banger parts from huge names like Corey Martinez and Nathan Williams, with some possible footage from your very own Incline Industries.
And as many of you probably know, the Town of Sylvan Lake is working on getting a new concrete skate park. I have been on the task force that has been assigned to help plan and develop the location and the park. What we need to see from you guys is a show of support for the new park. Especially now that elections are rolling around (with our very own Sean Mac running for council) be sure to press this issue with the town now, and after the election. Especially after the election. They need to know that we’re serious about a new park.
I would ask and encourage everyone to get out there and write town council, write the news papers demanding this skate park. However to simplify the process of democracy for you, below is a letter template that I made that would be awesome to have everyone email town council with. Please feel free to copy and change it as much as you want. Just please remember to put your name in at the bottom. I will also include the email address of the mayor and all councilors. Please spread the word around and lets push for the best park we can get.
Here are the emails of the current town councilors:

rbacks@sylvanlake.ca

To whom it may concern,
I would like it to be known that I recognize and support not only the building of the new Sylvan Lake outdoor skate park but also an increase of the budget, ideally to around $500 000.
The new skatepark would be:
- First and foremost: meet the needs of the local skate and BMX community
- Esthetically pleasing
- Functional now and in the future- State of the art/progressive
- An asset to the town- Would bring people in from out of town
- Give youth a place to develop their skills in the sport of their choice
- A creative environment where young people could grow
We need to meet the needs of the youth of Sylvan Lake now and in the future. Spending the money and building a “destination” skate park will not only please the locals but draw tourism into the town. The building of a new skate park with the above budget increase will cause it to be more effective for longer, and as a citizen of the Town of Sylvan Lake I stand behind this project and hope for its timely completion.
Thank you for your consideration,
